Understanding & Treating
Your First Visit
What to expect at your first appointment with Kenilworth Footcare. Comprehensive assessment, expert advice, and personalised treatment plans. Book your consultation today.
A thorough foot health assessment is the foundation of effective podiatry care.
During your initial consultation, we carefully evaluate not just your immediate concern, but your overall foot health, circulation, nerve function, and how your feet interact with the rest of your body.
This comprehensive approach is crucial because foot problems often have underlying causes that might not be immediately obvious. For example, what appears to be a simple corn might actually be caused by an irregularity in your walking pattern, or an underlying health condition could be affecting your foot health.
By conducting a detailed assessment first, we can identify any contributing factors, understand your lifestyle needs, and create a treatment plan that addresses not just the symptoms, but the root cause of your concerns.

Your first appointment will be around 45 minutes. This gives us plenty of time to assess your feet thoroughly and discuss any concerns you might have. In most cases we are able to start treatment there and then.
Please bring:
- A list of any medications you're taking (if you haven't recorded them on the online questionnaire)
- Any relevant medical history
- The shoes you regularly wear
- Previous orthotics if you have them.
Yes! After your assessment, if treatment is needed and time permits, we can usually provide this during your first visit.
It is helpful if you can wear trousers that roll up to the knee. If you can wear or bring the shoes that you wear most we can assess them for wear patterns.
This depends on what we find during your assessment. We'll discuss any recommended treatment plan with you and explain why we're suggesting particular treatments or follow-ups.
Many private health insurance schemes cover podiatry consultations. We can provide detailed receipts for you to claim through your provider's cashback scheme. We recommend that you check with your provider before attending.
